About Fair Go Finds
An independent Australian deals site that builds price history to help you judge a discount.
Who runs it
Fair Go Finds is run by one person in Melbourne, not by a retailer, a media company or an affiliate network. It started in 2026 out of frustration with “was” prices that were never the real price. Nobody at a store can pay to have a deal listed, moved up, or kept quiet.
Questions, corrections and complaints go to deals@fairgofinds.au. The contact page says what to include.
Where the deals come from
Two places. Members post deals they have found, and the site reads the product listings that 307 Australian retailers publish on their own sites, keeping only items that are listed as in stock and discounted against the retailer’s comparison price. That comparison price is a store claim, not proof of a usual selling price. Right now that covers 360 stores across 17 categories. Every deal says which it is, and who posted it.
Prices are re-read on a schedule, and a deal whose item sells out or goes back to full price is marked expired rather than left up. Each page shows when its prices were last checked.
How a deal gets a verdict
The site keeps a price history for every product it watches. A deal is compared with the median price over the previous 90 days, and the result is shown as a plain label: lowest tracked, great, good, typical or worse. With fewer than 3 recorded prices it says so instead of guessing. The full method, including what it cannot tell you, is on How we check prices.
How deals are ranked
Members vote deals up or down, and votes from people with a track record count for a little more. Clicks through to the store, confirmed prices and recency count too. The Hot feed also spreads out retailers and categories so one large import does not fill the page. There is no paid placement and no “featured” slot. Deals that the community votes down are taken off the front page automatically.
How the site makes money
Some links are affiliate links. If you buy through them we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. It never changes how deals are ranked. The disclosure page spells it out.
The rules
Be honest about prices, disclose your own referral links, one account per person. The terms and community guidelines have the rest, and the privacy policy says exactly what the site keeps about you, which is as little as it can.
