Christmas gaming console deals 2026

Tuesday 1 December 2026 to Thursday 24 December 2026

Christmas drives more Australian shopping searches than any sale event. Prices are not lower than Black Friday, so the job here is finding the gift in stock with delivery that arrives in time.

Buying gaming consoles at Christmas

  • Check the delivery cut-off before paying; most retailers publish a last order date for Christmas delivery.
  • Gift cards and digital subscriptions arrive instantly, which makes them the safe late option.
  • Toys and games at fixed prices, such as LEGO, show their real discount clearly in our price history.
  • Check the returns window; a gift bought in early December may fall outside a 30-day change-of-mind policy by the time it is opened.
  • Console bundles can hide a game you don't want; price the console alone.
  • Check whether the deal is the digital or disc edition.
  • Consoles rarely discount outside Black Friday and Boxing Day, so those are the windows.

Christmas questions

When should I buy Christmas presents to get the best price?
Black Friday and Cyber Monday usually beat December prices. After that, prices tend to rise, and the risk becomes delivery, not cost.
What is the last day to order for Christmas delivery?
It varies by retailer and state. Each store publishes its own cut-off, usually in the week before Christmas for metro addresses and earlier for regional.
