- Check the size carefully: Australian queen (153 x 203cm) differs from US and UK sizes, and king single is not a standard size overseas.
- Thread count means little above 400; the fibre (long-staple cotton, French linen, bamboo) tells you more about feel and wear.
- A quilt cover set may or may not include pillowcases, and 'euro' pillowcases are a separate size again.
- Pillows and quilts are rated by loft or warmth; a summer-weight quilt in a Melbourne winter is a false economy.
