Before you buy
Buying fabric, sewing & quilting
- Fabric is priced per metre or per 50cm; check which, and the width (110cm quilting cotton versus 140cm dress fabric).
- Pre-cut bundles (fat quarters, jelly rolls) are convenient but check the per-metre equivalent against buying by the bolt.
- Cut fabric cannot be returned, so order a swatch or buy a small cut if colour matters.
